STATS: Names of Shalhevet players lit up the arena scoreboard early in yesterday’s state championship game at the Golden 1 Center Arena, home to the NBA Sacramento Kings. It was the first time a Jewish girls team had competed in a statewide championship game.

The Firehawk girls basketball season came to an end Friday morning in a 38-27 loss to the San Domenico Panthers of San Anselmo, closing a long run in the CIF playoffs at the State Championship game in Sacramento.

The game was played in the Golden 1 Center, home to the NBA Sacramento Kings, and broadcast live on Spectrum Sportsnet.

San Anselmo is located in Marin County, just north of San Francisco.  This year’s CIF playoffs were the first statewide faceoffs since 2019. Shalhevet plays in Division 5.

Shalhevet students and faculty watched the game in the Shalhevet gym in a one-hour-and-40 minute block that was given to watch the game.
