After You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (2023), Singin’ in the Rain (2024) and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (2025), Shalhevet’s musical theater streak continues with The Addams Family (School Edition), coming to the Wildfire Theater in February 2026.
Ms. Reyna Zack, Shalhevet’s director of performing arts who led February 2025’s production of Putnam County Spelling Bee, will return to direct the 2026 show.
While Putnam County Spelling Bee was Ms. Zack’s first time directing a high school production, she has been working in performing arts as a voice coach, performer, and community theater director for the past decade.
Auditions for The Addams Family were held Sept. 10-11, and the cast was announced Sept. 19.

“This year’s show is going to be a visual feast,” Ms. Zack said in an interview in May. The intricate design plan for the musical features deceased Addams relatives from different eras, all in shades of distressed grey. From the 1920s, for example, relatives include a pilot, a woman from the Titanic, a suffragette, a flapper and a bride; a World War I nurse and a 1950s soda shop girl represent later decades.
In October, Ms. Zack said she believes the show’s look will be “hauntingly beautiful, with plenty of personality.”
As a child, Ms. Zack performed in plays and grew up in a home “infused with music, all the time,” she said.
“[At Shalhevet,] I’m trying to create an environment where people can be free to be creative,” she said.
