Hailing all the way from South Africa, Robyn Lewis is the new Director of Major Gifts and Executive Director.

As Executive Director, Mrs. Lewis oversees many deparments of Shalhevet, including business functions, finance, admissions, the facilities, marketing and information technology. Shalhevet’s new Controller, Errol Briggs, will also be working for her.

As the Director of Major Gifts, Ms. Lewis raises funds and is expected to raise a certain amount of money for an annual campaign and a certain amount for an endowment.

Mrs. Lewis received an MBA degree from UCLA and has worked in brand management for companies including Walt Disney and Clorox.  Her children attend Maimonides and she said she’d heard only good things about Shalhevet in her community. She also managed a home gift store, Robyn’s Nest.

“I am just winding it down,” she said. “I’ll probably have a blowout sale.”

Outside of school, Mrs. Lewis enjoys spending time with her children and cooking gourmet, “labor-intensive” foods like asparagus tarte.

“I like to patchke (experiment) in the kitchen,” Mrs. Lewis said.
