Maia Lefferman, Chief Photo Editor

Now a photo editor, Maia Lefferman joined the Boiling Point as a photographer in her junior year. Her skill and passion for photography have provided the BP with pictures of striking LAUSD teachers, election canvassing in Arizona and a Westwood nighttime vigil after the synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, among many other subjects. Her vigil photo tied for First Prize in Photojournalism in the 2019 Jewish Scholastic Journalism Awards.

Maia helped found Shalhevet’s first Democrat club and the new Immigrant Action Group and spends her free time reading various news sources and advocating for causes and political figures she supports. She has a passion for capturing every moment on her camera and is rarely seen without it.
