With a South Carolina Civil War battle flag waving high above them, rifles stowed on shoulders and intense drumming in the background, Shalhevet students marched in unison across the rooftop turf at lunchtime Nov. 9.
STALLED: Bus carrying sophomores home from trip in Arizona was stalled on Interstate 10 a few miles into California Sunday afternoon. Of the bus's two right rear tires, the front burst and the rear went flat. Students heard a popping sound and then the bus began to scrape the roadway.

Head of School Rabbi Ari Segal announced Friday that Ms. Sarah Emerson Helfand has been chosen as Shalhevet’s new Executive Director, replacing Mrs. Robyn Lewis who is leaving to become Executive Director of Beth Jacob Congregation in Beverly Hills. Ms. Helfand is the wife of Judaic Studies teacher Rabbi Avi Helfand.
