You may not see new Judaic Studies teacher Ramie Smith every day, because she’s teaching just one class this year, 10th Grade Talmud. She’s also developing a sex education curriculum with Rabbi Block, which will be taught to all grades, not just seniors.
With the new title Dean of Academic Affairs, Ms. Aviva Walls has expanded her role beyond college counseling to become the first-ever female educational administrator in the high school.

Part-time Judaic Studies teacher Dr. Sara Smith will move from high school to grad school next year, leaving her position as ninth grade Tanach teacher at Shalhevet to become assistant dean of the Graduate School for Jewish Education at American Jewish University in Bel Air..
Ms. Suzanne Halloran, one of Shalhevet’s longest serving teachers and known for her clear teaching, deep care of students and spirited classes, will be leaving Shalhevet next year to teach math at Harvard-Westlake School in grades eight and nine.
