When Rabbi Segal approved the new Sephardic minyan, the problem of some boys not wanting girls to carry the Torah was solved by creating a new minyan where no one — neither boys nor girls — carries it.
Meanwhile, the two Ashkenazic minyans, freshman-sophomore and junior-senior, still have Torah parades and a girl carries it on the girls’ side. Anyone who doesn’t like it can attend the Sephardic minyan.
