Dear friends and members of the Shalhevet community,
It is with deep personal regret and sadness that I submit my resignation as Head of School effective at the end of the school year.
Over the short time that I have been in this community, I have come to love the students parents, and members of the extended community. I admire the dedicated administration and faculty at Shalhevet, and marvel at the unique educational environment that has been created here. It was this special atmosphere at the school that first attracted me to Shalhevet.
Unfortunately, at this time, it is clear that returning to the New York area is in the best interest of my family. I would like to apologize to you, the Shalhevet community, for any hardship that is created by this decision. I will do my best to work with the administration and faculty during this transition period to minimize the effect on our students.
I appreciate the trust you had placed in me, and regret that I will not participate in Shalhevet’s future growth.
With warm personal regards,
Rabbi Elchanan Weinbach
