Boiling Point Caption Contest: Winners and new cartoon!

Congratulations to Shalhevet junior Jack Metzger, who wins first prize for his caption in the Boiling Point’s first-ever Cartoon Caption Contest.

The cartoon for Adar’s contest is at the top of this page.  Please follow the rules in the form below this article to submit your entry. Multiple entries are allowed.  Deadline for entries is Friday, March 18, at 3 p.m. Pacific Time.

Jack won for his caption of last month’s cartoon, shown below, “When God’s not enough.” Jack will receive a $15 gift certificate to Starbucks.

Second place goes to Jeremy Mittman of Los Angeles, for his caption, “Yes, I told you already. It’s for Elijah, I promise,”  and the third-place winner is Dr. Josh Sharfman, Shalhevet’s SAS Computer Science teacher.  They will receive $5 gift Starbucks gift cards.

There were more than 50 entries from people of all ages and all over, including at least three from Brooklyn, N.Y.

To enter, write your caption idea below, along with your name and the city where you live. You may enter as many times as you like!  But be sure to list your name and city, and also your email address so we can contact you if you win.

First prize is to actually name the cartoon, as it will appear in the next print edition of the Boiling Point. Second and third prizes will be published as runner-ups.  Winners of first and second prize will also receive Starbucks gift cards.

Judges are leaders of the Boiling Point’s graphics, news and web departments. Deadline for entry is March 18.
