From long-timers like Dr. Jill Beerman to newcomers like Rabbi Shmuly Yanklowitz, faculty members departed this summer for new endeavors both locally and around the U.S.
Athletic Director Coach Ronnie “Flava” Winbush completed a degree in human services and will be staying in Los Angeles, while Dr. Beerman will teach three AP courses at Lipson Hillel Community High School in North Miami Beach, and Rabbi Yanklowitz will become head of the Modern Orthodox Kehillath Israel Synagogue in Kansas City.
Math teacher Mrs. Emily Keuny is pursuing a degree in Special Ed., while long-time math department chair Mrs. Suzanne Halloran will be spending more time with her school-age children. English and Tanach teacher Mrs. Batsheva Frankel will continue to develop her “Launchbox” idea, which won the LA Jewish Federation’s $100,000 prize last year for the Next Big Jewish Idea.
During the final weeks of school, BP staffers gathered comments from students who said they’d be missed.
