Natalie Weiss, admissions director of Pressman Academy since 2005, has been named the Director of Admission at Shalhevet and will start Sept. 1.
Ms. Weiss, who is the mother of senior Elianna Willis and freshman Tamar Willis, is very excited to use her experience to improve the Shalhevet admission process.
“We want all our visitors, even those who decide Shalhevet is not the right fit, to leave with a positive impression,” says Ms. Weiss, “There’s a lot to do and I’m eager to get started!”
Ms. Weiss has four children, who have all attended Pressman Academy. The younger two, Boaz and Nomi, are still there, in sixth and fourth grade, respectively.
An avid Zionist, she moved with her children to Raanana for the 2008-2009 school year. She wanted to provide her children with the opportunity to forge a close bond with the State of Israel, as well as to master the Hebrew language. In addition to working at Pressman, for the past 14 years Mr. Weiss has also taught classes on natural childbirth.
Ms. Weiss is looking forward to being at work with Eli and Tamar.
“I’ll be glad to see their faces around the halls,” says Ms. Weiss, “and I am excited to work with high school students.”
“I want prospective parents to have a positive experience from the moment they contact us until they make their decision to enroll their child,” says Ms. Weiss. “I want students to enjoy visiting Shalhevet so much that they tell their parents and their friends that Shalhevet is where they want to be.”
President of the Board, Larry Gill, thinks that she is the perfect person to do just that.
“Those of you who know Natalie,” Mr. Gill wrote in an e-mail to the community, “will understand how thrilled I am to bring on someone with her skills and experience. Those of you who have not yet met Natalie will understand shortly what an asset she will be, as the first point of introduction to Shalhevet for potential new students and their families.”
