Tomomi Shaw:

I started soccer at the age of five on a recreational team in San Francisco called the Shooting Stars. I had a sister and brother that played and my dad always took us to the park. Then I started playing at club level and I knew that that was a sport that I wanted to do for the rest of my life. In fourth grade I moved to Los Angeles and I played at a regular AYSO recreational league.

I love soccer because I’m an aggressive player, and I like the feeling of having to be aggressive. I played basketball for a year and I couldn’t do some things I was used to doing in soccer.  So being aggressive, I felt I could be a little more aggressive. Also, just the thrill of sprinting downfield and with the ball by your feet, and like you pass it or you shoot — it’s just, I like that thrill of the chase.
