Talia Davoudian: Fulfilling to Create

When I was in the third grade, I joined the after-school jewelry making club, and I continued until I was in 5th grade and then stopped for a little bit. Then I decided  that was really fun. I liked what I made, so I went out and bought my supplies. I started teaching myself and learning new things. I feel like it’s fulfilling to see that I created something. I looked into selling them, and I do eventually want to sell them. The hard part is that I can’t like to mass-produce because it’s all handmade. Usually, I’m sprawled out on the living room floor or on my rug in my room.

I don’t have a lot of time to make jewelry anymore. I usually make it over the weekend or on days that we don’t have school. Some things are very simple, or there are actually ones that you have to work out intricate patterns, and I love making those. Jewelry making is a little bit of a mental break for me. It’s kind of like, okay, we can do something for me now. It’s something that I think helps me just relax.
