This is a hat that my great-grandfather made. He escaped the war and went to Canada, where he became a furrier. Although he escaped, his family stayed behind because his father, a Chasidic rabbi, believed that G-d would save the family. His brothers made many fake passports for other jews and helped a lot of people escape Poland.
