The following letter was sent to parents this morning from Shalhevet Board President Larry Gill and incoming head of school Rabbi Ari Segal.

Dear Parents of Shalhevet,

Shalhevet School is thrilled to annonce that Ms. Katerina Malikov will be joining the faculty as the Chair of the Mathematics Department beginning the 2011/2012 academic year.

As many of you know and have experienced through your children, Ms. Malikov is a master teacher who has taught Mathematics at Maimonides Academy for the past 10 years, and has taught Honors PreCalculus this year here at Shalhevet. She combines superlative teaching skills with a unique rapport with her students to encourage them to excel at their own individual best levels.

We are gratified that Ms. Malikov has decided to pursue the next chapter in her career with us at Shalhevet. Her considerable talents and sterling reputation would have qualified her to teach at any school in the country. Tht she has chosen to join the Shalhevet faculty secures our ability to provde the finest in Mathematics education to our students. Ms. Malikov is precisely the type of educator and role model who will distinguish Shalhevet as it continues to develop into one of the leading and most vibrant Modern Orthodox college prepartory schools in the country.
